Whole Product
+ Distribution
= Moat
The Argument
01
AI has collapsed the time and resources required to build software. But building software only gets you so far.
02
Design, UX, onboarding, integrations, security, governance, performance, reliability, and support — the whole product still separates winners from "look what I built over the weekend."
03
So does distribution: earning it, protecting it, growing it has never mattered more.
04
More powerful models, more efficient models, more to choose from. Value capture shifts to the harnesses, APIs, data, and infrastructure — where switching costs, not compute, decide the winners.
05
The next era belongs to builder-executives. Leaders who can build whole product, distribute, and scale using AI.
The Record
Two decades building and scaling enterprise software. Two years building from zero with AI.
01 — Building at AI Speed
Zero to one
Co-founded Ngentix, a no-code, agentic execution platform for mid-market teams. Led product and go-to-market — strategy, roadmap, and commercial operations.
Raised pre-seed funding, hired a founding engineering team, and took the product from concept to commercial release in five months. Built the brand from scratch: naming, visual identity, positioning, messaging, and web presence.
02 — Product and Go-to-Market at Scale
Scale
Two decades taking enterprise software to market across startup, PE, and public companies — through multiple acquisitions.
- Led the global marketing launch of the $8.8B HP Enterprise Software acquisition — the largest in the company's history.
- Built the company-wide investment system directing $3B+ in portfolio spend.
- Ran the release operating model shipping 300+ product releases per year.
- Stood up a Cloud FinOps practice from zero and cut $20M+ in cloud spend within six months.
03 — The Self-Driving Business
The Experiment
A running experiment: can one operator use AI to build and run multiple commercial software businesses? Two subscription products live — ViewVault and VinylVault — built end-to-end: product, billing, integrations, lifecycle marketing, analytics. Both revenue-generating. Both run by one person.
- Commercial product.
- Commercial product.
- Private beta.
04 — Point of View
An ongoing series on what AI does to the economics of building, buying, and competing in software.
